The band began as the project of guitarist Aggelos Tzamtzis, who moved to Berlin to realize his dream. He soon brought in Tim Crawford (guitar and backing vocals) and Felipe Melo Villarroel (drums). But almost immediately, Covid-19 hit and they found themselves in lockdown and unable to jam again until restrictions lifted. However, they wasted no time in finding a home studio in a “crazy historic building in Berlin” and brought in Tallon Smith (vocals) and Vangelis Sazanides (bass) to complete the lineup.

The result was Threads’ debut EP “Akasha”, which was recorded in KAOS Studios, Berlin. Mixed and mastered by Aggelos Tzamtzis and Frankie Insulina. The EP was finally released in June 2021 and is available on every digital platform. A visualiser video for the first single ‘Tessera’ was also produced and is available on YouTube.

Threads’ sound has been influenced by a wide range of progressive rock and metal bands as Porcupine Tree, The Ocean, Thrice, Deftones, Tool, Alcest, Cult of Luna, Gojira, and Opeth.

Now with the EP already released, the band is working on a new album that will be available in 2022. In the meantime, a video clip for the second single ‘Colorless’ has already been filmed and will be out in November.
